Daisy Ilchovska
SHARING A LIGHT ON ONE OF the world’s most misunderstood DISEASES
“Adele is a truly amazing and very efficient editor and publishing and publicity ‘know how’ person, who really helped me with my self-publishing project through direct, honest and constructive advice and encouragement. Working with her was seamless and she manages to strike the fine balance between a lovely and friendly manner and highly professional persona that very few people do. She would be a valuable asset to any project and I personally highly recommend her.” (Daisy Ilchovska)
This was a pro bono project close to my heart. Daisy Ilchovska, a highly qualified and experienced professional in the field of health and wellness, had drafted a book titled Lyme in the Limelight. As a first-time author, she sought expert guidance to refine her manuscript, ensure clarity and flow, and prepare it for independent publication on Amazon.
I suggested a comprehensive editorial approach to enhance the manuscript’s structure, language, and overall impact. This involved conducting a thorough line edit, focusing on sentence-level clarity, grammar, and style, as well as a structural edit to evaluate the overall organisation and flow of the book.
How Copy & Co helped
I reviewed and edited the manuscript, providing detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. My focus was on preserving Daisy’s unique voice and expertise while ensuring the book was accessible and engaging for a broad audience. I worked closely with Daisy to address any questions or concerns she had, creating a collaborative and supportive process throughout the editing journey.
Results
The manuscript was improved in terms of clarity, conciseness, and overall readability — it has been described by readers as ‘the best book on Lyme’ and ‘very well laid out and well written’.
After having the book professionally edited, Daisy felt well-prepared for publication and also for the marketing process that followed. A profile on her book was published by Dorset Biz News here.
